Olga Segura

Olga Segura is a Mexican producer. She has produced films premiering at worldwide prestigious festivals like Venice, Berlin and Sundance. Her last film, “Waiting for the Barbarians” was based on the novel written by Nobel Prize winner J.M. Coetzee, it was directed by the colombian Oscar-nominee Ciro Guerra, starring Oscar winner Mark Rylance, Robert Pattinson, Johnny Depp and Gana Bayarsaikhan and premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2019.

She is currently producing and co-directing a documentary based on the 3-time Latin Grammy winning singer and composer Carla Morrison.

Segura is also a co-founder of Poderistas, a movement and platform designed to empower the next generation of Latinas as well as, Decididas, a digital content series and platform that empowers women in Mexico and Latin America. Segura created and directed Elefanta: Que ninguna se quede balanceándose sola, an animated short film by The Latinx House.

For her efforts as a prominent voice within the Latinx community, Segura was named to Forbes Mexico’s list of the 100 Most Powerful Women of 2019, as well as earning recognition as a “2019 Changemaker” by Marie Claire.
